Alumni Mentoring Program

The College of Design Alumni Chapter Mentoring Program has been redesigned for 2007 to keep up with the changing needs of both the College of Design students and local professionals.  This year we are pleased to announce a joint venture with the ASU Design Community, an online resource for students, faculty, and local design professionals.

Students and mentors will be asked to communicate through the ASU Design Community’s Mentor Program Page with the hopes that this will expand the experience for both the students and professionals and allow greater networking opportunities.  In addition, we are hoping that an open forum format will facilitate interdisciplinary discussions, which was not possible in the past.  The program will give students an opportunity to acquire a realistic perspective of the design profession as a whole and any specific field of interest they have.

The Alumni Chapter will be facilitating the website and will be sponsoring several networking opportunities for students and professionals throughout the year.

Inquiries should be directed to College of Design Alumni Chapter Mentor Program Committee.

Alumni Chapter Scholarship/Fellowship Endowment

The College of Design Alumni Scholarship/Fellowship is made possible by an endowment at the ASU Foundation created by College of Design Alumni Chapter Board members at ASU in 2000. College of Design Alumni Chapter Board hosts an annual golf tournament with sponsoring design professionals with the proceeds funding the endowment.

It is the intent of the board to establish goodwill with College of Design students to financially support them in pursuing their creative endeavors and to set an example for students to give back to the college when they become alumni in the future.

College of Design Alumni Chapter Scholarship Committee

This scholarship/fellowship will support at least one student with an award of approximately $500, with half of the amount awarded each semester. For more information on how you can contribute to the College of Design Alumni Scholarship/Fellowship Endowment, please contact College of Design Alumni Chapter Mentor Program Committee.

Dinner for a Dozen Devils

The College of Design Alumni Chapter Board participates each year in conjunction with the Student Alumni Association (SAA) and the students of the College of Design in continuing the tradition of the Dinner for a Dozen Devils program.

The College of Design Alumni Chapter Board’s Dinner for a Dozen Devils event works to foster interaction between students and the College of Design Alumni Chapter Board by coordinating dinners for twelve students at the home of a host. This setting allows students and their host to interact in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. It also offers both the host and the students an opportunity to further foster the spirit and traditions that bind them together. Relationships, both personal and professional, have origins from this program.
