Minors/Concentrations

The Design School also offers three minors and BIS concentrations.

The architectural studies minor is available to non-architecture majors interested in this field who wish to pursue another major. The courses are designed to provide an overview of architecture throughout history while focusing on architectural design, with the intention to explore the process of design thinking.

The minor in interior design history is available to students interested in design and culture. The courses designated for the minor are part of the professional studies in interior design within the program of interior design. Moreover, the courses serve to inform the students about the importance of the global community, especially sociocultural groups, and the impact of the global community on the design of the interior environment.

The minor in landscape architecture studies is designed for students who have an interest in landscape aesthetics, but are pursuing a major in another field. The course selection is intended to provide greater understanding of landscape issues that may be relevant in related professional disciplines and to broaden knowledge about the landscape in which we live.
