What is the state-of-the art in design research?

Who is doing it? How? Design is a process of transforming existing situations into preferred ones. Research is a process of systematic inquiry. Responding to questions posed by aspiring researchers, From Here to There will offer reflections and lessons from the frontlines of design research.

Crafted to maximize interaction, the symposium will include plenary sessions with ample time for conversation, as well as afternoon workshops to deepen understanding of specific methods and topics. The intended audience is anyone who is curious about the practice of research within the context of design.

This event is initiated and organized by students from the Master of Science in Design and PhD in Environmental Design and Planning programs in the College of Design at Arizona State University in an effort to facilitate learning about design research in the context of academic and professional practice.
