Bio

Philip Horton is a Faculty Associate in the School of Architecture + Landscape Architecture and he runs a research laboratory called Systems Components for Architecture Products and Environments (s c a p e) under Darren Petrucci. He received a Master's Degree in Architecture with Commencement Honors from the Arizona State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design (now the College of Design).

The  s c a p e  research lab is housed within the College of Design and engenders collaboration with research faculty from various disciplines throughout the University as well as professionals in the Phoenix metropolitan community Research within  s c a p e  encompasses projects that range from mass-customized furniture, civic infrastructure, buildings, and urban design. Projects include the Comfort Zones project at Terminal 2 of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (done with Tri-Core Engineering of Phoenix), the new OASIS bus shelters for the City of Phoenix (done with TranSystems Corporation of Phoenix) and the 7th Avenue Lampshade Canopies™ in Phoenix (done with Waibel & Associates Landscape Architecture).
