Bio

In 2002, John Meunier stepped out of the position of dean of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University, a position he held for 15 years. Professor Meunier then took a yearlong sabbatical, visiting and filming desert cities around the world that has developed into a set of educational videos produced by Insight Media, and has since resumed his academic career.

Previously, he was Director of the School of Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Cincinnati. He started teaching architecture at Cambridge University in England, where he was on the faculty for fourteen years.

He has been a design consultant to the City of Cincinnati and served on its four-member Urban Design Review Board. He was Vice-Chair of the City of Phoenix Central City Architectural Design Review Panel and the ASU Design Review Board throughout his deanship. Most of his architectural practice has been in Great Britain where he was on the team that won the competition to design the Burrell Museum in Glasgow, Scotland. The house he designed for himself is now on the National Historic Register

During his career Professor Meunier has been a Visiting Critic and Lecturer at many schools of architecture, including Harvard, Yale, and McGill. He is a registered architect in the United Kingdom, and in Arizona. Most recently he was a Visiting Professor and Interim Director of the School of Architecture at Clemson University.
