Bio

Andrew Weed is a practicing graphic designer and graphic design educator. In 1994 he began his practice in Seattle where he was a typography instructor at the University of Washington. Since 1999, he has been at Arizona State University.

During three years of postgraduate study at the Basel School of Design/Switzerland, he explored printing, signs, and typography. He holds his BFA from the School of Art at Arizona State University.

He is fascinated with the discipline of signs. His research is concentrated in this area as it occurs unintentionally in the built environment of the Sonoran Desert.

Weed is interested in serving on graduate committees that focus on graphic design education, linguistics, semiotics, signs, and typography.
