Why did you choose the MSD program?
I chose the MSD program because I not only wanted to further my education of interior design but also expand upon my knowledge of healthcare design. I believe that as interior designers, we have the opportunity to improve patients’ and staffs’ quality of life through our creative designs of healthcare facilities. The MSD in Healthcare and Healing Environments here at Arizona State University is one of the first in the country, and through its focus on evidence-based practice and healing environments is a cutting-edge program that I believe will greatly help further my education and career goals.
What is the best aspect of the MSD program?
The best aspect of the MSD program is the opportunity to work with other design majors on projects and through everyday dialogue to become more aware of other design disciplines’ perspectives of design and theories. Through this incorporation of different design backgrounds in the MSD program, I believe I am learning more about design as a whole and issues in the current design industry, as well as exploring my research topic more thoroughly through different avenues I never would have researched before.
