Manuel Ricardo Lugo Cruz, MSD 2006
Manager, Center for the Transfer and Incubation of Information Technology Instituto Tecnologico de Sonora (Mexico)

Why did I select the MSD Program?
I selected the MSD Program for two reasons. First, it was part of an international academic liaison between Arizona State University and the Institute of Technology of Sonora; second, the College of Design at ASU is ranked among the top 60 design programs worldwide.

What was the most significant learning experience in the MSD Program?
I saw a great opportunity for achieving and transferring design knowledge to local and regional enterprises upon my return to Mexico. More specifically, adding value to products, learning how to work in multidisciplinary teams, and being in a global learning environment at the College of Design were among the most significant learning experiences.

How did earning the MSD assist me in my present position?
The MSD was a catapult for me! The knowledge and skills that I acquired have assisted me in the different areas of the Center for the Transfer and Incubation of Information Technology at ITSON. Furthermore, the MSD provides the methodological framework for most of the research, innovation, and development process for new products and services developed in the Center.
