Martha Zarza , MSD 2001
Associate Professor
PhD Student at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico

Why did I select the MSD Program?
I selected the MSD Program at ASU because I had a specific interest in a research oriented graduate program in design. I was particularly interested in the research areas of design, theories, and methodologies of the program.

What was the most significant learning experience in the MSD Program?
For me, the most significant learning experience in the MSD Program was the focus on research. This focus totally stimulated me and, eventually, became an important factor in my decision to pursue my Ph.D.

How did earning the MSD assist me in my present position?
The knowledge and abilities obtained in the MSD Program allowed me to become the head of the graduate program of my school in Mexico. Moreover, this special research approach has been very productive in the academic agenda of the school. As a result, we have a new academic magazine, more faculty members have been involved in research projects, the first master program was launched, and the Mexican federal government has provided new grants to the school supporting the research activities.
