2009 Career Fair

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Registration will begin in October, 2008

Employers

Don't miss this opportunity to visit with students from across the College of Design's academic spectrum including Architecture, Design Studies, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Housing + Community Development, Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Visual Communication Design. The students will primarily be May 2008 graduates, but all students are invited to attend to chat with potential employers about internship opportunities.

This year, the College of Design is pleased to present an event opening mixer and "A Conversation with James Cramer" on Friday evening, February 29 prior to Saturday's Career Fair.

James P. Cramer, Hon. AIA, Design Futures Council, Atlanta, is the Chairman and Principal of The Greenway Group, Inc., a management consulting, research, and publishing organization specializing in the architecture, real estate, and management. He is a foresight advisor, futurist, and trends authority in the architecture, design, and construction industry and the editor of Design Intelligence, a design management change and innovation journal. Cramer is the author of four books including the critically acclaimed book How Firms Succeed: A Field Guide to Design Management and The Next Architect: A New Twist on the Future of Design. He is the editor of the annual Almanac of Architecture & Design, praised as the “essential and definitive tool for architecture and design facts” by the American Institute of Architects.

He is the founding cochairman of the Washington DC-based think tank, the Design Futures Council. The Council’s mission is to explore trends, changes, and new opportunities in design, architecture, engineering, and building technology.

Jim Cramer served as the (CEO) of the American Institute of Architects for six years from 1988 to 1994. He is the former President and CEO of the American Architectural Foundation and for seven years was the publisher of Architecture magazine. He was the cofounder of the National Design Council and a Director of the national Society of Architectural Historians.
