History, Theory, and Criticism Concentration
As a concentration, History, Theory and Criticism brings together faculty members from the School of Design Innovation and the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture in very specific areas of expertise.
Such is the case with Beverly Brandt, professor, with her research interest in the Arts and Crafts Movement, historic interiors, and American craft; Paul Zygas, associate professor, with his interest in architectural history and theory, modern architecture and baroque architecture; Renata Hejduk, assistant professor, with her research interest in the history of architectural theory (1945–present) and American radical avant-gardes in architecture and urbanism of the 1960s and 70s; and, Thomas Morton, assistant professor, with his research in the architecture and urbanism of the Roman Empire, the city of Rome through time, the ancient and medieval Mediterranean and North Africa antiquity through the present day.
