Freshman Year Experience/Other On-Campus Housing
Living in one of the ASU residence halls provides students the opportunity to make the most of their university experience. Special residential communities for freshmen, honors students, students in particular academic areas, and students interested in a healthy living community offer opportunities and activities that enrich the educational experience. The College of Design offers the Athena Living + Learning Community program for high-achieving freshman who declare one of the college’s majors (see section for the Athena program). The Freshman Year Experience program provides a unique environment of classrooms, live-in tutors, academic advisors, and other support services designed to help freshmen develop skills for success. Because the demand for campus housing is high, students are encouraged to apply for housing early (before February 1) for the best chance to live on campus for fall semester. Housing is not guaranteed. Students must be admitted to ASU before applying for housing. Requests for specially modified rooms for students with disabilities should be noted on the application. Students will receive residence hall application information and meal plans on the Tempe campus with their admission certificate. For more information, access the website at www.asu.edu/reslife.
