The resident and nonresident tuition for fall and spring semesters is available at Student Business Services. The amounts listed are per semester for each academic term. Resident students registered for seven or more hours or nonresident students registered for 12 or more hours are considered full-time for tuition payment purposes. As a guide, undergraduate tuition and fees for the 2006–2007 academic year were $2,345 per semester for Arizona residents and $7,924 per semester for nonresidents. The Arizona Board of Regents reserves the right to increase tuition and fees and otherwise amend the regulations concerning tuition, fees, and method of payment at any time and also to make such changes applicable to students enrolled in the university at that time as well as for incoming students.
The college assesses additional program and computing fees, which differe according to the program or course. Contact the program advisor for details on theses fees.
Effective fall semester 2004, all graduate-level Architecture programs (3+ MArch, MArch, and MS) require a flat fee of $1,125 per semester (the amount of this fee is subject to change). This fee is in addition to regular university tuition and fees and is used to support scholarships, teaching assistantships, publications and exhibitions, lectures and jurors, exchange programs, and special events within the graduate programs in the College of Design.
The tuition installment plan offers students an option to divide fall and spring semester tuition payments over several months. Students may enroll in the tuition installment plan and reserve their classes four ways: over the phone using SunDial, on the Internet through ASU Interactive, in person, and by mail. Students must reenroll in the plan each semester. Students enrolling in the Tuition Installment Plan will be charged a per semester nonrefundable enrollment fee of $75. The enrollment fee will be billed on Student Accounts Receivable and is due at the same time as the first tuition installment. The enrollment fee is nonrefundable, even if you drop or withdraw from classes.
Enrollment in classes completes the registration process. By registering for classes, you agree to pay all applicable tuition and registratin fees. If you decide not to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from the university. If fees are not paid by payment deadlines, you will be automatically enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan and will be charged a per semester nonrefundable enrollment fee of $75. The enrollment fee will be billed on Student Accounts Receivable and is due at the same time as the first tuition installment. The enrollment fee is nonrefundable, even if you drop or withdraw from classes. A fee payment deadline is listed on all Schedule/Billing Statements, via ASU Interactive, and in the Schedule of Classes.
ASU, in partnership with alumni, civic groups, private foundations, individuals, and federal and state governments, remains committed to assisting you and your family in meeting the expenses associated with obtaining an ASU degree.
ASU has many financial aid options available. Financial aid includes grants, scholarships, work-study, loans, education tax credits, or a benefit from completing community or military service. Almost everyone, regardless of income, can qualify for some form of financial aid. In fact, more than 90 percent of resident students at ASU who applied for aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) were offered some type of assistance. For most types of financial aid, you will need to complete the FAFSA, available online or at any high school in your community. Submitting this application is free; there is no charge by the government to process it.
Because some funds are limited, it is very important to file your FAFSA as early as you can. If you apply by early February each year (February 15 was ASU’s FAFSA priority date for 2005), you increase your chances of receiving institutional grants, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Perkins loans.
The College of Design offers a variety of scholarships specific to the study of architecture, design, and planning. A separate application available through the college’s website is required in addition to the FAFSA application. Please see the guidelines on the college’s website.
