Parking Options

Public Parking: There are several pay garages and lots in downtown Phoenix:

  • The University Center garage is located at the intersection of Polk St. and First Street; the entrance is on Polk St. The University Center address is 411 North Central Avenue. Cost: $2/hour, maximum $8/day.

  • Ampco Autoramp Garage can be accessed from Van Buren Street between Central Avenue and First Avenue, across from the Central Bus Station, and from First Avenue and west of the Security Building. Cost: $1/20 minutes, maximum $9/day.

 

Students, faculty, and staff with ASU parking decals, can use the ASU Downtown Campus lot at 320 N. 4th Avenue (about 4 blocks west of PURL, just north of Van Buren). ASU Shuttle: A free ASU shuttle that travels between University Center (1st street and Taylor), the Mercado (5th Street and Monroe), and the Tempe Campus. For more information, go to: http://www.asu.edu/downtownphoenix/parking/shuttle.html

Public Transportation: Valley Metro is free to all ASU students, staff, and faculty. To ride for free, go to the Tempe Parking and Transit office and pick up your free bus pass. Schedules can be viewed on www.valleymetro.org. The routes between Tempe and downtown Phoenix are Route 1 and the Red Line.
