Laurel Arndt is the Coordinator for the Planning and Design Academy for the Phoenix Urban Research Lab (PURL) in the College of Design at Arizona State University. She is responsible for the development of workshops to provide continuing professional education opportunities to the Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Design, Housing, Urban Development, and Planning professionals and practitioners. She is also a Faculty Associate teaching urban and ecological planning to graduate and undergraduate students in the School of Planning.
Laurel graduated from ASU with a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning in 1999 and also received a Bachelor of Business from ASU. She is an environmental planner consulting in the areas of open space conservation and park and trail planning. Laurel has worked on a number of public issues ranging from the conservation of State Trust Lands to the preservation of open space and trail access to the creation of a countywide regional trail system. She has advocated for comprehensive public and private partnerships in order to create a sustainable environment and landscape in the region.
She is on the Maricopa County Parks Board and the Planning Committee for the City of Scottsdale McDowell Mountain Preserve and is also a member of the City of Phoenix Ahwatukee Foothills Village Planning Committee and she chairs the Landscaping Committee for one of the largest HOAs in the Valley.
Laurels’ academic interests and personal interests compliment each other as she is an avid mountain biker and climber.

Courtney Carroll is the Business Operations Manager for the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) and is responsible for administering various business operations of the school including; accounting, developing financial reports, analyzing and interpreting financial data, budgeting, human resources, staff development and supervision, and developing and monitoring strategic planning activities. She also serves as the liaison between the SALA and other university and non-university entities.
Courtney earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Northern Arizona University and a Masters of Public Administration from Arizona State University.
She is a member of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Western Association of College and University Business Officers (WACUBO).

Martha is responsible for student engagement and alumni relations. She manages the Athena Residential College and coordinates the efforts of student clubs and organizations, including the student Ambassadors and College Council. She coordinates the annual career fair and coaches and recruits the team for the yearly Academic Bowl Competition. Martha coordinates convocation (graduation), fall welcome, and homecoming activities for the College.
Martha’s goal is to provide students leadership and growth opportunities in the college so they are productive members of the greater community. Martha is interested in researching first-year programs and student leadership. Martha is a graduate student and alumna of ASU. She holds a BA in Communication.
She is a member of the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU) National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and ASU's University Career Women.

Heather Hilton is the Administrative Associate for the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA). Her main responsibilities include ordering office supplies for SALA, communicating important SALA information to faculty, staff, and students, aiding the upkeep of the SALA website, processing reimbursements and travel documents. Heather also maintains Director Darren Petrucci’s calendar, and coordinates other SALA events.
Heather is currently working on a Bachelor of Arts in Art History.

Janet Holston is the director of the Herberger Center for Design Research (HCDR) in the College of Design at Arizona State University. She is responsible for developing new research initiatives and general operations of the center.
She also owns a consulting company and has worked with local small businesses in grants consulting, writing, editing and project management services. Her clients have been from the public speaking, event management and professional services industries.
Holston has a degree in urban planning from Virginia Tech and was formerly director of the Bureau of Housing in South Bend, Indiana, where she managed the federally funded housing programs for the city.
She is on the board of directors for the National Association of Women Business Owners Phoenix Metro Chapter, a board member and grants committee chair for Women’s Enterprise Foundation, and a member of the ASU W.P. Carey School of Business Spirit of Enterprise Center advisory team.
Married and the mother of three active offspring ages 17, 19, and 21, she likes to read, bicycle, travel, and add to her giraffe collection.

Tim’s role in the College of Design is to promote student engagement, success, and professional and social development opportunities in the Athena Residential College and the Summer Design Workshop. Tim is responsible for undergraduate recruitment and works with local high schools and community partners in the process. He believes that validation and accountability are the keys to student excellence.
He holds a BA Spanish, and a BA Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also earned a master's degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education from ASU.
Tim is a member of Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), Arizona Commercial Real Estate Women (AZCrew), and the Pacific Sociological Association (PSA).

Robin is responsible for assisting graduate students with navigating and enforcing the College and University policies and procedures from admission through graduation. She implements recruiting initiatives for the program, meets with prospective students, and assists with the admission process. Robin is the administrative liaison between College administration, faculty, staff and students and is the primary contact for current students in the programs. She provides advisement and monitors and supports students’ progress toward graduation.
Robin is a two time alumni of ASU. She hold a BS in Psychology and a MEd Higher and Adult Education.

Maritza Maurer is the web developer for the College of Design at Arizona State University. She is responsible for overseeing the architecture, development and management of the College of Design website. In addition, she develops and maintains other websites that are in conjunction with the College of Design. Also, she is responsible for bringing new technologies for the web to keep the College website up-to-date for the purpose of providing an efficient and reliable website.
Mrs. Maurer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Information and Management Technology in May 2002 from Arizona State University.

Megan’s role is to coordinate and support the ASU Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) Program. She is responsible for administering various aspects of the program, including recruitment, admissions, promotion, student services, budgeting, event planning and Alumni relations. Her long-term focus is to develop new program initiatives and increase the quality of the educational experience in the MRED Program as viewed by both students and faculty.
Prior to joining ASU, Megan held an Account Executive position with a full service marketing and advertising firm where she managed and built client relationships, provided creative direction for the development of effective marketing tools, and represented the communication liaison for clients and production team. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Iowa State University. She comes to ASU with a background in marketing, accounting, branding/promotions and international business.

Chantel administers and applies University and College policies as well as implements academic procedures college-wide; addresses issues related to academic integrity; liaison to the Provost’s office on behalf of the Dean; medical withdrawal designee; point of contact for student concerns that are brought to the Dean’s attention. Chantel works with academic units to facilitate promotion and tenure guidelines and deadlines.
Chantel’s goal is to be an enthusiastic learner, role model, teacher, writer, researcher, and strategic planner. She is passionate about working with faculty, staff and students on a personal level, but also enjoys the challenges of leading, planning, developing and implementing policy. She strives to make connections and build relationships within the community of scholars, educators, and researchers.
Chantel earned a B.S. in Journalism from Northern Arizona University (NAU) and a master's degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University.

Brian works with both graduate coordinators in the College. He manages day-to-day operations of the office and supports graduates students in the admissions and graduation process. He responds to graduate students' inquiries. Brian hold a B.A. in Communication Studies with emphasis in Organizational Communications from ASU and a Master's of Liberal Studies in Science, Society and Creative Non-fiction writing. Brian is also working toward a M.S. in Technology: Global Technology and Development. His research interests are in the areas of Human factors of science and technology, sustainable development and environmental science. Brian has been with ASU for three years.

Sharon is an alumna of ASU and holds a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology and a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
Sharon is a member of American Educational Research Association, Association of Black Sociologists, National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals, Pacific Sociological Association, Society for the Study of Social Problems, ASU's University Career Women. In addition, she has a certificate in How to Recruit Graduate Students: Strategies, Techniques, and Secrets.
