Arizona State University is dedicated to helping students lead healthy lives and reach their academic and personal goals by creating a healthy campus environment. Through the Living Well Network, ASU provides integrated medical, psychological, physical fitness, and wellness programs and services.
Campus Health Service
(480) 965-8177 l www.asu.edu/health
When students feel they are coming down with something, need a regular check-up, immunization, injury evaluation, or want an on-going medical problem evaluated, they can call Campus Health Service to make an appointment. In case a student needs something more urgent, we have nurses and doctors on hand to help walk-in patients. The Campus Health Service provides medical services including laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and immunizations for all registered ASU students regardless of their insurance status. We strongly recommend immunization against meningococcal meningitis. This is a potentially fatal or devastating illness and the risk factors are higher for college students in residential housing. The vaccine is readily available with or without an appointment. For appointments to the health center please call 480-965-3349.
Counseling and Consultation
(480) 965-6146 l www.asu.edu/counseling
At Counseling and Consultation, students are welcomed to a safe and confidential environment where they can be direct and honest in individual counseling sessions and therapy groups without fear that personal information will be shared. Friends, families, and educators who are concerned about a student in distress can also turn to Counseling and Consultation for assistance. Initial assessments are available at no charge. Fees are charged for most services but may be reduced or waived upon demonstration of financial need. We also accept ASU’s student health insurance and many other insurance plans.
Wellness and Health Promotion
(480) 965-4721 l www.asu.edu/wellness
Students are the central focus of our wellness and prevention programs. Our work in the following areas supports student success: alcohol and other drugs, sexual assault and relationship violence, HIV and sexually transmitted Infections, and healthy lifestyle and wellness. Through Wellness and Health Promotion, we create mentoring opportunities through internships, peer education programs, student organization development, and student employment. Our programs identify important emerging health trends, recommend university policies, and implement education and communication campaigns that are meaningful and responsive to students.
Campus Recreation
(480) 965-8900 l www.asu.edu/src

Living in one of the ASU residence halls provides students the opportunity to make the most of their university experience. Special residential communities for freshmen, honors students, students in particular academic areas, and students interested in a healthy living community offer opportunities and activities that enrich the educational experience. The College of Design offers the Athena program for high-achieving freshman who declare one of the college’s majors (see section for the Athena program). The Freshman Year Experience program provides a unique environment of classrooms, live-in tutors, academic advisors, and other support services designed to help freshmen develop skills for success. Because the demand for campus housing is high, students are encouraged to apply for housing early (before February 1) for the best chance to live on campus for fall semester. Housing is not guaranteed. Students must be admitted to ASU before applying for housing. Requests for specially modified rooms for students with disabilities should be noted on the application. Students will receive residence hall application information and meal plans on the Tempe campus with their admission certificate. For more information, access the website at www.asu.edu/reslife.
