Financial Aid Overview
ASU, in partnership with alumni, civic groups, private foundations, individuals, and federal and state governments, remains committed to assisting you and your family in meeting the expenses associated with obtaining an ASU degree. ASU has many financial aid options available. Financial aid includes grants, scholarships, work-study, loans, education tax credits, or a benefit from completing community or military service. Almost everyone, regardless of income, can qualify for some form of financial aid. In fact, more than 90 percent of resident students at ASU who applied for aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) were offered some type of assistance. For most types of financial aid, you will need to complete the FAFSA, available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or at any high school in your community. Submitting this application is free; there is no charge by the government to process it.
Because some funds are limited, it is very important to file your FAFSA as early as you can. If you apply by March 1 each year (ASU’s FAFSA priority date), you increase your chances of receiving institutional grants, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Perkins loans; however, you can still submit your FAFSA anytime through out the academic year.
