Lisa StrausfeldData Visualization Entrepreneur & Principal, InformationArt 1.5 CES credits available for AIA members Lisa Strausfeld: Where Do I Begin? Lisa Strausfeld has worked as an architect, information architect and software developer, but thinks of herself, chiefly, as a designer. Over the past 20+ years she has developed a fluency in technology-based media forms that range from software prototypes and websites to large-scale interactive installations. She describes her work as “content-driven and media-agnostic,” meaning that experience of the content is key and the determination of the form the content takes is an integral part of the design and development process. Through her work and inspired by this lecture series' theme of Resilience, Lisa will focus her talk on what has connected all of her design work: where she begins. She will share the awkwardness and discomfort of those initial moments on a number of specific projects, the questions she asks, the answers she finds (which she often forgets are always the same), and how the common beginnings of her work creatively liberate the end results.
