The Design School

The Interior Design Program on the Tempe campus at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associates to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus. 
The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person, remote, online, or a combination of those course structures. They will prepare course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes).  Faculty Associates positions are one semester, non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. 
The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment.  Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

One or more degrees in an interior design, interior architecture design or related design discipline AND two (2) years of related professional experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. 

Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the baccalaureate or graduate (if applicable) level 
Demonstrated knowledge of design methodologies and practice
 

The application deadline is November 22, 2023. Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool.  Applications in the reserve pool may then be reviewed in the order in which they were received until the position is filled.

Faculty Associate vacancy announcements will be posted on a semester basis. Applicants who are not hired within the current academic year are welcome to re-apply - applications do not roll forward from the previous pool recruitment.
