Job description:

 The Design School in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University invites applications for multiple part-time Landscape Architecture Faculty Associate positions for Spring 2023 

The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person, remote, online, or a combination of those course structures. They will prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associates positions are one semester, non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses are contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

Required qualifications:

 

A professional degree in Landscape Architecture OR two (2) years of professional experience working in Landscape Architecture; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.  

  • ALA 102 - A professional degree in a design discipline AND two (2) years of professional experience working with a focus in design areas
  • EDS 301, 402 - A professional degree in a design discipline AND two (2) years of professional experience working with a focus in design areas
  • DSC 394 - A professional degree in a design discipline AND two (2) years of professional experience working with a focus in design areas
  • LAP 371/LAP 598 - Accredited baccalaureate or graduate degree in landscape architecture or related area AND Professional experience in landscape architecture AND Licensed landscape architect
  • LAP 251 - Baccalaureate or graduate degree in horticulture or a related area AND Professional experience in the horticulture industry
  • LAP 342, 494, 598, LTC 598 - Baccalaureate or graduate degree in landscape architecture or a related area AND Professional experience in landscape architecture AND Licensed landscape architect
  • LDE 262, 362, 462, and 522 - Accredited baccalaureate or graduate degree in landscape architecture AND Minimum 4 year’s professional experience working under a licensed landscape architect
  • MUD 522 - Accredited baccalaureate or graduate degree in landscape architecture or Urban Design AND Minimum 4 year’s professional experience working under a licensed landscape architect or urban designer     

 

Desired qualifications:

 

  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the baccalaureate or graduate (if applicable) level 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design methodologies and practice
